Kevin + Danielle

Castle Island

Boston, MA

Kevin and Danielle took full advantage of their winter engagement session to explore all that Castle Island had to offer. This diverse Boston photo session location had parks, long walkways, and beaches for the happy couple to enjoy with their wedding photographer. The snow on the ground and overcasted skies made for a perfect winter landscape. As for the New England couple, this bride and groom was down to earth, relaxed, and a joy to hang out with! We can’t wait to see them again at their Crowne Plaza Wedding in Warwick, Rhode Island this coming Fall!

The photographers at Move Mountains Co are amazing. They make you feel so comfortable, and do a great job of blending into the background while also capturing all the moments you want. They were also extremely flexible and I really appreciated the attention to detail. I would highly recommend them to anyone!

Curtis + Kim

Coonamessett Farm

East Falmouth, MA

September of 2018 was a wild ride for us, but Curtis and Kim’s Cape Cod wedding fell at just the right time! After their Spring engagement session at Beavertail State Park, our wedding photographers couldn’t wait to reunite with this bride and groom! It was the first day of Autumn and Cape Cod was in full bloom. Coonamessett Farm in East Falmouth, Massachusetts became the perfect rustic backdrop for Curtis and Kim to tie the knot! Our wedding photography team had the best time exploring the farm grounds with the couple, and taking a break between photos to say hi to the alpacas! If you’re getting married along the Cape, our wedding team would love to help make it happen! Contact us here.

We love the emotion and the candid moments that Move Mountains captured of the day! We are so happy with the shot style, gorgeous work!

The Morning Of

Getting the Best Bride Prep Photos

You wouldn't think it at first, but some of our favorite wedding photos/videos are taken in the morning when the bride is getting ready! It’s the beginning of the day, excitement is in the air, and we don’t want to miss a thing. This is a critical time for your wedding photographers to capture some really important photos that you’ll love to look back on later. In order to make sure that your bride prep looks great, here are a few suggestions that we can offer!

Location

We recommend choosing a space/location that is open, has plenty of natural light and is free of clutter! This will ensure the photographer or videographer has plenty of light and room to work with and will keep your photos looking nice and clean! Try to avoid hotel rooms that are cramped and don't provide much natural lighting. Indoor lighting can be difficult to work with and usually produces orange skin tones, and hotel rooms can also be limiting when trying to find a nice place to shoot details, such as the dress! Often times these rooms have TVs, phones, desks and lamps which can take away from the elegance of the dress and other details that need to be shot.

If you've already scheduled a hotel or are in a smaller/darker space this is totally okay! Here are a few tips for working in this type of space:

  • Make sure your hair and make up artists position you by a window (This is important in any scenario, we love natural light!)

  • Keep indoor lighting off, it may feel dark but the pictures and video will still come out bright!

  • Keep the space clean

Details

Be sure to bring all the details that you want us to photograph or catch on video on the morning of. This may include but is not limited to:

  • Shoes

  • Dress

  • Wood or Custom hanger for the dress (Example)

  • Bridesmaid dresses

  • Invitations

  • Rings (All 3)

  • Ring Box (Example) (Another Example!)

  • Any jewelry

  • Any card/gift you'll be exchanging with your fiancé

  • Your bouquet

Time

Bride prep is such an important part of the day and can sometimes be neglected and undervalued. This is the most relaxed time of the day: you're spending time with your girls, getting pampered, and getting ready to say I do! It’s a great time for your photographer or videographer to warm up and build a rapport with you, your bridesmaids, and your family! But beyond that, shooting details takes time! We ask that you give our team at least an hour (but we recommend more) to style invitations, rings, florals and shoes, and also find the best place to hang your dress!

If we are shooting video and you're planning on exchanging cards on the morning of, please allow your videographer an extra 15 minutes to capture good visuals and audio!

We hope that this is helpful for you as you continue your wedding planning! As always, feel free to reach out to us with any questions you may have!

Aaron + Heather

Salve Regina + Forty Steps

Newport, Rhode Island

Engagement session season picks up right as summer wedding season slows down! Aaron and Heather got to meet up with their wedding photographer right before the winter chill rolled in. This happy couple’s adventure began when they met at Salve Regina in Newport, Rhode Island, so it was such an honor to head back to where it all began for their two-hour engagement session. Our top rated wedding photographers loved getting to know the bride and groom while hearing stories and visiting the spots where they first fell in love. Their engagement shoot was the perfect warm up for their wedding photography and videography this upcoming Fall at Gurney’s in Newport. If you’re recently engaged and looking for a wedding photographer or wedding videographer, we’d love to connect!

My fiancé and I had our engagement photos taken this past fall by Move Mountains Co. and we couldn’t be happier with how they came out! They were amazing to work with and made us feel comfortable in front of the camera. We were blown away by their attention to detail. Our photographer brought us back to our first location after noticing the lighting from the sunset, which turned out to be some of our favorite pictures. We are so excited to work with the entire Move Mountains Co. team for our wedding next fall!

Curt + Tanya

Ocean Cliff

Newport, RI

Curt and Tanya's bright summer wedding at Ocean Cliff Hotel was a day to remember. Wedding photographers and wedding videographers often seek to capture that raw, genuine emotion that shined in Curt and Tanya’s excitement and anticipation. Their soft details from the pastel floral arrangements to the lacy wedding dress added simple elegance to their wedding day at one of Newport, Rhode Island’s most beloved wedding venues. With bright sunlight and full hearts, their wedding photos and highlight film were a sure hit. Curt and Tanya had two photographers and two videographers on their wedding team to ensure that they’d be able to relive every moment of their special day. Mike + Mary

Fort Adams

Newport, RI

We initially met Mike and Mary through some mutual friends of ours! When they asked if they could bring their dog to their engagement session, we knew right away that we were going to love them. Our wedding photographers loved getting to explore the historic, rustic interior with this down to earth bride and groom. Fort Adams in Newport, Rhode Island was a special spot for Mike and Mary, as they had many sentimental memories there at the Newport Folk Festival every year. It was an easy photo shoot location to pick for their wedding engagement session, and it resulted in some beautiful, dramatic engagement photos! If you’re getting married in 2020, let’s book your engagement session today!

Sean is so great at capturing moments, it feels so natural and comfortable. I would recommend him to anyone looking for engagement sessions or weddings!!

Tim + Katie

Aqua Blue

Narragansett, RI

Tim and Katie brought the energy to Narragansett, Rhode Island with their bright eyes and huge smiles. This adventurous couple tied the knot at the elegant St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church, but our wedding team’s favorite moment of the day easily was climbing the rocky terrain for their photo session at the Black Point Trailhead walking path. Their bridal party was larger than life and their love story was a pleasure for our wedding photography and wedding videography team to retell. Tim and Katie booked the "Deluxe Too" wedding package, which includes two photographers and two videographers. We'll never forget the enthusiastic crowd, the high energy couple, and killer venue that made this wedding what it was!

Jay + Kalyn

Beavertail State Park

Jamestown, RI

Winter’s wind and chilly temperatures couldn’t stop Jay and Kalyn’s waterfront engagement session at Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island! This couple flew in all the way from Michigan to visit family and to get to know their wedding photographer well before their wedding day! This New England couple pushed through the windy weather and their engagement photos came out effortlessly! We loved getting to hear more about their love story, and they were super fun to photograph!

Sean and the rest of the team of Move Mountains Co. were absolutely wonderful to work with! My husband and I are not the most comfortable in front of the camera, but their easy going and relaxed attitudes made us feel so much better. They are warm and accommodating by nature, so they took all the pressure off and blended in seamlessly, and didn’t in any way make us feel so on the spot. They listened to us and gave us all the space we needed, but somehow captured every moment so beautifully.
— Nadine

Jeremy + Jaime

Mount Hope Farm

Bristol, RI

We met up with Jeremy and Jaime for their engagement session at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, Rhode Island and it was love at first sight! This couple was full of excitement and energy, and they had a great time getting to know their wedding photographer during their engagement shoot. Their bright, airy engagement photos look effortless and fun, just like them! This was the bride and groom’s first time being professionally photographed, so it was the perfect opportunity to let loose and get comfortable in front of the camera well before their wedding day at Linden Place Mansion!

Sean and his Move Mountains team are wonderful! Not only do they produce stunning photographs, but they capture natural, meaningful moments with thoughtfulness. I will cherish our wedding photographs forever.

Jimmie + Kate's Boat Session

Hawthorne Cove

Salem, MA

We’re not gonna lie, our wedding photography and videography team was a little star struck when we first met Boston-based fashion blogger, Prep of Boston! The first time we met Jimmie and Kate was at their favorite spot in Salem, Massachusetts. It was on their boat and by the docks that these two fell in love, and we loved hearing their collection of memories they shared there! It’s always extra meaningful getting to visit different spots that hold sentimental value to our wedding couples for their engagement sessions! We got married at a residential home in Rhode Island in October 2017 and Move Mountains did an exceptional job capturing the gorgeous weekend. I absolutely love our photos and really enjoyed working with the photographers. Among what I appreciated: their prices were reasonable, they were willing to customize a package that made sense for our wedding needs and the photographers were very responsive to the style of photography we were going for. My only regret is not booking a bit more time with the photographers. Thank you Move Mountains!

Connor + Amanda

Beavertail State Park

Jamestown, RI

Every time we visit Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island to photograph our engagement sessions with our recently engaged couples, it’s easy to see that it’s magical! Connor and Amanda’s engagement shoot with their wedding photographer was no exception! We had a blast navigating the beach’s rocky terrain with these two! This was the perfect opportunity for this couple to get comfortable in front of the camera while getting to know their photographer some more! We can’t wait to see them again when they say “I Do” at Fort Adams this September!

“My fiancé and I just had our engagement photos done, and could not be happier with how they came out! The pictures are absolutely beautiful.. And our photographer had them totally complete in less than a week. I can’t wait to work with them at our wedding.”

We had the pleasure of shooting this bride and groom’s engagement session at the Roger Williams Botanical Center in Providence, Rhode Island this past fall! Beavertail State Park in Jamestown, Rhode Island just might be our most highly sought after engagement session location! Our wedding photographers love this spot for its hilly terrain, dynamic landscape, and proximity to the ocean! Our wedding couples can’t get enough of this naturally beautiful place for their engagement photos, no matter what season! Most recently, we hit our favorite spot with Frank and Robyn to photograph their dreamy, romantic engagement session. The cool autumn breeze and setting sun made for some beautifully warm-toned photos for these two to enjoy! There are plenty of photo session locations in Rhode Island to explore, and we’d love to book your engagement session and check them out together!

Move Mountains Co. delivers every time. I have had the opportunity of working with them on several occasions (Baby announcements, maternity shoots, and newborn photos) and was blown away each time. The photos are natural, clean, candid and just breathtaking! I love that I have these special moments to look back on!!

Josh + Lizzie

Goose Rocks Beach

Kennebunkport, Maine

This past weekend, our wedding photography team bundled up and made the journey to Goose Rocks Beach in Kennebunkport, Maine for our most recent adventure! We braved the brisk winter breeze and caught some romantic golden hour beach photos for this surprise engagement session! This wasn’t your average wedding proposal, but this wasn’t your average couple either! It was such an honor to photograph one of our own team members, Josh, as he proposed to his fiancé, Lizzie! Josh is one of our multifaceted creatives on our wedding team, specializing in wedding photography, wedding videography, graphic design, AND he’s one of our drone pilots! Josh has been with us since the beginning, and we’re so excited for him as he enters into this exciting new season! Congratulations, you two!

Move Mountains Co. is by FAR the best wedding photography/videography services in Rhode Island, if not the entire East coast. The camera crew not only feels like family at the end of the wedding, but works hard to get to know the bride, groom, family and guests. I found myself at the wedding standing and talking to each photographer individually for a good chunk of time - each and every one has a heart of gold...I will never forget these guys and I will forever recommend them to anyone getting married. There is nothing better than not worrying about your big day and getting the calming attention of your photographers. Not to mention the enthusiasm when amazing photos are taken - these guys really do love what they do and they make the biggest effort to help you love your wedding day!

Chris + Marissa

The Dean Hotel + Bolt Coffee

Providence, RI

We took to the streets of Providence, Rhode Island with Chris and Marissa for their city engagement session! The crisp winter air had nothing on this adventurous couple, we set out to explore and wound up over at Bolt Coffee and The Dean Hotel! Laughs were exchanged over great coffee and great conversations as this couple got to bond with their wedding photographer! We couldn’t be more pleased with these urban engagement photos, and we can’t wait to see Chris and Marissa again to photograph and shoot video at their wedding at Hotel Providence!

Choosing Move Mountains was one of the best vendor decisions we made for our wedding. Everything was seamless and superb. We were able to organize photographers, a videographer, a gopro, photo booth, extra time for added sessions without any difficulty. The photographs speak for themselves and are SUPERB! They are so natural and stunning. The team was such a pleasure to work with. They all went above and beyond our expectations and showed up early, stayed late and were by our side for the entire LONG day as well as evening before. They were never intrusive, but fun to be around and made our day that much better. Nothing felt cheesy or forced. Highly highly recommend! Best decision we made and we couldn’t be happier!
